What an amazing first annual Wünderbar Lagerfest! The response from Steuben Club Members and customers throughout the celebration was fantastic.  In a craft beer world dominated by hazy IPAs and overly fruited sours, we thought it would be fun to take a little break from the certain intensities those styles bring.  Don’t get us wrong; we love making hazy IPAs and enjoy some fruit in beer, but we also enjoy the nuance of a perfectly crafted Pilsner, Helles, or Pale Lager.  These traditional lager styles don’t jump at you with tropical fruit aromas, are not loaded with more fruit than beer, and do not have any lactose sugar added. If you pay attention to the traditional lager styles, they can give you insight to the skill and craftsmanship it takes to brew one.  Any flaw throughout the brewing, fermentation, and cellaring process will be evident with traditional lagers, and attention to detail is most important. Once you grasp the subtle, nuanced, and crafty pilsners, you will understand that their aromas and flavors are not so elusive after all and can be quite crushable.

Due to the overwhelming positive response from customers, we will keep these beers on this week to give others the opportunity to come taste what lagers have to offer.
